The Quarrymen were the band performing with John Lennon on Saturday 6th July 1957 – the day John met Paul McCartney. Almost 70 years on, the Quarrymen return to Quarry Hall - John’s school, their namesake, and the first stage they played - to celebrate the most momentous day in music history with an exclusive Q&A and live performance!

Formed in 1956 by John Lennon and his school friends at Quarry Bank – now Calderstones – School, the band that started the Beatles reformed for a reunion in 1997 and continue to tour the world. Their Skiffle and early Rock music which influenced the birth of the Beatles, is popular with not only Beatles’ fans, but all those who enjoy the music of the fifties and its history.

The Original Quarrymen and Friends lineup features original members Rod Davis (guitar and vocals) and Colin Hanton (drums), joined by well-respected Beatles author and musician David Bedford (bass) and brilliant piano player Henry Lowe (keys) – son of the late great John Duff Lowe, original Quarrymen pianist.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ask questions, hear stories, and enjoy original music from John Lennon's first bandmates, as they return to the school where their friendships blossomed, and the Beatles story began!
