07.30 am - The cafeteria doors are unlocked. Pupils may have their breakfast in the Arts Wing Cafeteria.
08.30 am - Pupils leave the cafeteria ready for the start of the school day.
08.35 am - The school sound system produces a loud tone. This informs pupils that it is time to enter the buildings for registration in their form rooms.
08.40 am - The school tone sounds. Pupils enter their form room for registration. On Monday the assembly begins at this time. Pupils who miss the assembly, because they are late, are required to serve a late detention.
08.55 am - The school tone sounds. Period 1 begins. Form tutors release pupils and the morning assembly ends. Pupils move around the school to report for their first lesson.
09.55 am - The school tone sounds. This is the end of Period 1. Pupils have 5 minutes to get to their next lesson.
10.00 am - The school tone sounds. Period 2 begins.
11.00 am - The school tone sounds. This indicates the start of morning break time.
During this 15 minute break pupils play outside or may shelter inside if the weather is poor. The cafeteria is open for light refreshments. Most pupils need to visit the toilet!
11.15 am - The school tone sounds. Period 3 begins. This indicates the end of morning break and pupils move into school for the start of lesson.
12.15 pm - The school tone sounds. This is the start of lunch time. At the start of the school year pupils in year 7 are allowed into the cafeteria early and eat first. During the first week of term year 7 pupils have the exclusive use of the Resource Centre. Upstairs there are nearly 60 computers available for pupil use. When year 7 have settled in, they go into lunch first in rotation with years 8 and 9. Many children spend their time queuing ready to go in. However our advice is to play out or stay in the resource centre, and then begin to queue nearer to the time that they will be allowed in.
